Paleo Brownie Recipe!!
Hi guys! As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting in the kitchen lately trying to find healthy alternatives for my favorite desserts! I came upon this recipe for paleo brownies, so I decided to try them out! Below is the recipe, as well as my review of them!
Ingredients:
1 cup Almond Butter
½ cup Homemade Almond Milk or Coconut Milk (I used Oat)
3 Eggs
2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
¼ tsp Sea Salt (I did not add this)
⅓ cup Cacao Powder
¼ cup Raw Cane Sugar, Raw Honey, Agave, or 100% Pure Maple Syrup (I used agave but would have used maple syrup if I hadn’t run out of it)
⅓ cup Dairy Free Chocolate Chips (I used regular chocolate chips and added a lot more—more like ⅔ cup)
⅓ cup Chopped Nuts optional (I did not add any)

Instructions:
Grease 8x8 baking dish
Preheat oven to 350℉
Add all ingredients except for chocolate chips and nuts to a large bowl and mix with a hand mixer or a stand mixer
Stir in chocolate chips
Pour into prepared baking dish and sprinkle the top with chopped nuts (I sprinkled extra chocolate chips on top instead)
Bake for approximately 18 minutes (it took mine about 26 minutes)
Overall, I think that the brownies turned out pretty well. However, they definitely do not resemble normal brownies. To begin, they are super rich—I don’t personally mind this because I love chocolate but they definitely have a strong flavor. Second, the consistency is pretty different from regular brownies. The outside is a bit spongy and the inside is pretty gooey. Again, that’s not necessarily a problem as long as you don’t mind that texture. While this recipe is certainly a good healthy alternative, I’m gonna keep testing out different clean brownie recipes to see if I find one that I like even more!
