At Home Spa Day

I know I can’t be the only one in need of a major self-care day! Since I can’t go to the nail salon and get a nice mani-pedi—which I am in desperate need of, by the way—I figured I’ll transform today into an at-home spa day. Continue reading to see how I transformed my home into the perfect spa!

1. Take a Shower

I don’t know about you, but my everyday schedule has been completely messed up ever since quarantine started. Because of this, I think the best way to get into a relaxed mood is to begin your day with a shower. If you prefer, a bath would be just as good—if not better! But I’m just gonna stick with my classic shower routine.

2. Face Mask

I have also been breaking out a fair deal since quarantine started, so face masks have been a must for my skin! They’re perfect to apply once you get out of the shower and they leave your skin feeling so good. My favorite one to use is Mario Badescu’s Healing and Soothing Mask as it is so gentle and delicate on my skin!

3. Pedicure

I’m gonna start with a pedicure before I move on to my manicure because that will make it less likely that I make mistakes. For my pedicures, I love using Kiara Sky’s “Cotton Kisses” polish as it is just the right color of pink—not too much but not too little, either. It also adds a pop of color and makes me look a little bit tanner compared to my normal very fair skin.

4. Manicure

To be honest, I’m really not the best at giving myself a manicure. While I have greatly improved over the years, I am still not at a level anywhere near professional. However, it’s the best I can get at the moment. The color I’m using today is Essie’s “hi maintenance”. It’s a beautiful baby pink and perfect for my nails as I don’t want anything too intense!

5. Grab a Cup of Tea and a Movie/Book

The best thing to complete your day of self-care is to nestle up on the couch in a fuzzy robe, sipping on a warm cup of tea. My personal favorite tea is Twinning’s Lemon and Ginger Tea. It has such great flavor and is neither too strong nor too weak. To truly end in a peaceful state, I am going to watch a movie. You could also read a book, but for me nothing calms me down like watching my favorite films. In terms of the movie, my favorite genre is rom-coms. For today, I decided to watch Love, Rosie as it’s one of the cutest movies ever and always puts me in a good mood!
